What's the difference between foreclosure and power of sale?
In a power of sale, the lender sells the home to recover what's owed and returns any surplus to the owner. In a foreclosure, the lender takes ownership outright. Ontario runs mostly on power of sale.
Are these homes actually cheaper?
Sometimes — not always. Some are priced to move quickly; some need work. We share the background on each so you can see which is a real opportunity and which only looks like one.
Where do you find them?
Peterborough, Northumberland (Cobourg, Port Hope), Durham Region (Port Perry, Scugog, Uxbridge), Kawartha Lakes and Georgina — updated daily, so it's current, not last month's leftovers.
