Waterfront Properties in Ontario
True waterfront only — direct access to the water
Every property on this list is true waterfront — your land meets the water and you step from your yard to the shore. No deeded access, no easements, no channels, no road in between — and we tend to skip the overly weedy properties too.
Christine curates this list and keeps it current.
What counts as true waterfront?
Direct frontage — the property meets the water and you walk from your yard to the shore. It isn't deeded or shared access, an easement, a channel, or a lot separated from the lake by a road. All of those get called "waterfront" in a listing; here, only the real thing makes the list.
What should I check before buying waterfront?
Look past the photos: how the shoreline actually swims (sandy, rocky or weedy), where the water comes from (a drilled well or a lake intake), septic or holding tank, and whether it's built for true year-round use. Our Waterfront Guide has the full checklist — request it here.
Which lakes do you cover, and how do I keep up?
Across the Kawarthas, Peterborough County, Northumberland (Rice Lake), Durham (Scugog and Port Perry), Simcoe and Georgina. The list below shows every true-waterfront property for sale now — or subscribe below to get the daily waterfront email.
